We feel incredibly grateful to be part of his journey and to build on the strong foundation that has been created. He is truly a grand horse, and we are so excited for the future ahead — it’s incredibly bright!

December 21, 2021 We are EXTREMELY excited to announce that "Tonto" will be making an appearance in the next season of Yellowstone! Even better? Proceeds of the winning bid went towards the National Cutting Horse Association Foundation which directly supports the National Cutting Horse Association and the cutting horse community, through their endeavours to educate youth, protect the horse, preserve the past, and secure the future of the sport of cutting.

July 13, 2017 This year's Calgary Stampede Working Cow Horse Classic Open Hackamore Finals did not disappoint, with a talented field of horses fighting it out against tough cattle under the watchful eye of a large crowd. John Swales and CATS PICASSO emerged champions with their flawless run, scoring an unheard-of 301 aggregate for the win.

June 6, 2017 NRCHA Stakes Open Derby: CATS PICASSO scores a whopping 228 in the Open Derby prelims (High Fence score), and qualifies for the finals.


April 1, 2016 NRCHA Stallion Stakes: Las Vegas did not disappoint! CATS PICASSO and John Swales made the Open Derby finals, and also competed for the $10,000 METALLIC CAT Incentive (open to horses sired by METALLIC CAT, decided by the highest aggregate in the Open Derby Finals)... Competition was super tough, but "Tonto" edged out CALL ME MITCH (ridden by Philip Ralls) to win by a half a point.


October 3, 2015 NRCHA Open Snaffle Bit Futurity: "Tonto" traveled to Reno, NV to compete against the best young horses Working Cow Horse has to offer in the National Reined Cow Horse Open Snaffle Bit Futurity. He scored the highest prelminary aggregate 659.5 (herd 217, rein 218.5, fence 224), and was the High Fence Score buckle winner.
